The team behind HVAC Guard Insurance

We are a specialty agency that writes one trade — residential and commercial HVAC contractors — under the Wexford Insurance, LLC umbrella. This page is who we are and why we built it.

Why HVAC Guard Insurance exists

HVAC Guard Insurance is a specialty brand of Wexford Insurance, LLC, built for the contractors who install, service, and replace the heating and cooling systems homes and businesses run on. We are not a general agency that happens to write an HVAC account now and then — we write the HVAC contractor trade specifically, and we place it with carriers that actually want the class.

The insight the brand is built on is simple: a residential service-and-replace shop and a commercial mechanical contractor look almost nothing alike to an underwriter. One works inside occupied homes across a high volume of smaller jobs, where the signature exposure is the in-home property damage and the completed-operations tail of an install that fails after the job; the other sets rooftop units and building systems at height under general-contractor relationships, where scale, fall exposure, and contract insurance requirements drive the risk. And the one exposure that defines the whole trade — the install that fails after you leave and causes a fire, a carbon-monoxide call, or water damage — is a completed-operations claim a generic policy underweights. A policy rated to a generic “contractor” misprices one model and leaves another exposed. We separate the work and rate each model to what it actually does — and we treat the lines the trade lives on, general liability built around completed operations and contractors equipment for the tools and the van, as core rather than as afterthoughts. That focus is the whole point of HVAC Guard Insurance.

HVAC is also a state-regulated, multi-state business — contractors add crews, cross state lines, and pick up commercial and general-contractor accounts with their own insurance requirements, on top of a licensing picture that genuinely varies state to state alongside the federal EPA Section 608 technician certification. We are licensed across 48 states and place coverage through a 25-carrier specialty panel, so coverage fits the trade wherever your crews and accounts are. Whether you want to talk through a renewal, a new venture, or a commercial contract that just landed on your desk with requirements you do not recognize, that is a conversation we have every day.
